Day 1
11: 00-11: 30 - group gathering at the airport and at the Mineralnye Vody railway station (near the main entrance to the station from the city side). Transfer by bus to the Bezengi alpine camp (about 5-6 hours). In the village of Bezengi, the usual asphalt ends and the dirt road begins. Next, we are waiting for verification of documents at a post at border guards. Finally we are in the mountains! Against the snow-capped peaks, the mecca of climbers flaunts - the alpine camp "Bezengi". On its territory we will put up our campground. Today we will make a sightseeing tour of the alpine camp and go up to the observation deck. From here we will see the gorges of the Mizhirgi, Bezengi rivers and part of the famous Bezengi wall. Bezengi Climbing Camp is a separate, amazing world! On its territory there are buildings for living, its own dining room, shower room, gift shop and even a kindergarten! When climbing, climbers can always leave their children here under supervision. Tourists are very fond of gathering in a local cafe, where there is a large, relief model of the Bezengi district, which we will also see today!
Day 2
The Bezengi Gorge is the real edge of waterfalls! Today we are heading to one of them - Zhiginji waterfall. At the very top of the Kargashil Range there is a glacier that gives rise to the Zhiginji River. And the river, in turn, gives us a beautiful, snow-white waterfall. Water jumps on mountain steps and forms several picturesque cascades. You can go very close to the waterfall and take magnificent photos of water splashes against the backdrop of the mountains! In July, our photos will also be decorated with blooming orange poppies - the rarest flowers, the highlight of these places. We go further along the route! Ahead of us is an ecotropic to the Besengi glacier. Small trees and shrubs grow along the path, bright flowers delight the eye. Walking along the trail is very easy, because it is specially created for tourists, there are even benches here))). Throughout the route, information stands with a description of the local flora and fauna are installed. With each step, we are getting closer and closer to our goal - the stunning Bezengi glacier! It is considered one of the largest glaciers of the Caucasus. The length of the glacier ranges from 13 to 20 kilometers, and the thickness of the ice reaches 180 meters !! Can you imagine this? This is unbelievable! We walk in these places until the evening and enjoy the beauty. The active part of the passage along the route: 5.5 km, elevation difference of 2140-2040-2200 m, the duration of the route is 5-6 hours.
Day 3
In the early morning we go to the gorge of the river Dumala. Although we left very close to our usual parking lot, but the landscape has changed a lot. Of course, around our favorite mountains, but today most of the route we will pass through the forest! The Dumyla river gorge is very green, it always gives us mushrooms, in July it makes strawberries happy, and in August and September it spoils raspberries and blueberries! Our path smoothly rises through meadows, higher and higher along the beautiful river Dumala. On a wooden bridge we will cross the river. It is necessary to freeze on the bridge for a few seconds - and you immediately feel all the power of a fast, noisy mountain river! Soon we will go to a huge green meadow, where we are waiting for lunch. But it will be a bit later. In the meantime, let's go enjoy the Ukyu Falls! A narrow gorge tightly compresses a river in its stone arms and gives us a waterfall. Ukyu waterfall is high, foamy, snow-white! You'll like it. The active part of the passage along the route: 9.6 km, elevation difference of 1590-2070 m, the duration of the route is 6-7 hours.
Day 4
Today we will have an incredibly bright day! We will come very close to the North Wall - an amazing creation of nature. Any climber with a bated breath will tell you that the Northern Massif is a huge mountain wall. 15 kilometers of pure snow and ice, 4 five thousandths !! The wall bends, so it is often called a snow horseshoe. On a sunny day, against the blue-blue sky, the North Wall sparkles with its ideal glaciers, and snow-white clouds swirl over its peaks. You just can’t take your eyes off her, she’s so good and effective! At the foot of the wall, the Mijirgi glacier proudly spread. It is so amazing to walk along the glacier when blue forget-me-nots or daisies bloom nearby. But this is exactly what happens in the Bezengi Gorge! On the way back we will admire the sunny waterfall Gidan. It is in the afternoon that the sun shines perfectly on it! Gidan is a cascading waterfall that flows from Gidan-tau Mountain in fast streams. We take photos and go down to the alpine camp. The active part of the route: 13.2 km, elevation 2140-2820 m, the duration of the route is 7 hours.
Day 5
All week we live on the territory of the Bezengi camp. Around us are dozens of happy climbers who have come to conquer the local peaks. Today we’ll get a little closer to these people and feel for ourselves what it is to climb the rocks! On the rocky spur Ayutash, to improve the skills of climbers, places for rock practice are equipped. This place is called the Rock Laboratory. You will receive instruction and training in the basics of climbing under the guidance of experienced instructors. And then we go to the climbing routes for beginners! First we try the simplest routes, and if you want to, we will go on to longer and more difficult tracks. The routes here have the most unusual names: “Black Tooth”, “Road to the Clouds”, “Smell of the Wind”, “Seasons”. Climbing is a wonderful workout, after which you have a pleasant tiredness and a victorious feeling of conquering the heights! Duration of the event: 4 hours.
Day 6
We leave the camp early and climb the Bezengi glacier. We will walk along a rocky slope, walk along a moraine and leave our tracks on a real glacier! With each step we will come closer and closer to the magnificent, snow-white Bezengi wall. The wall is 13 kilometers of snow and ice, there are two five-thousandths here: Dzhangitau (5085 m) and Shkhara (5193 m). On the way we will admire the magnificent mountain of Gestola, which rests against the sky with its sharp, snow-white peak! The route to the Bezengi wall always causes thrill and delight of tourists. It is here that you immediately feel all the strength and power of high mountains! Further down the route, in the side pocket of the moraine, is Lake Barankosh. In its calm waters, the snowy peaks of the Bezengi wall are ideally reflected! The instructor decides to visit Lake Barankosh based on the physical fitness of the group. Day 7
In the morning we collect the camp and leave the hospitable Bezengi gorge. On the way we will stop at the Blue Lake and thermal springs. Blue Lake "Cherek-Köl". Blue Lake is the second largest karst spring in the world in depth; its maximum depth is 279 meters! The water is emerald-blue in color, visibility here is almost independent of the weather and reaches 20-40 meters. Thermal springs Aushiger. In these places in the 1950s they were looking for oil and accidentally discovered thermal springs =)). Now there are equipped with outdoor pools, where you can swim in the healing thermal water. The water temperature reaches 50C and comes to the surface from a depth of about 4000 meters. Water is very rich in potassium, calcium, sodium and bromine. It cleanses the human body, relieves stress, rejuvenates and gives a boost of energy.
18:00 - arrival in Mineralnye Vody, departure home.
