Attention!
- This is an approximate tour program by the number of days,
- The route of the start from the East side is due to easy logistics to the city of Briancon,
- The program can be adjusted for a larger number of days or shortened by 1 - 3 days,
- Before or after the start, additional days can be included in the program for travel to nearby areas, cities, etc.,
- Transportation can be done by public transport or by car,
- Accommodation for the tour is booked in advance, there are options: hotel, chalet, apartments, huts, camping (tents)!!!!
Day 1
Meeting of participants in the village of Vallouise (average altitude 1500 m), the commune of Vallouise-Pelvoux, which consists of 8 villages: Pelvoux - Les Claux, Pelvoux - Saint Antoine, Pelvoux - le Poet, Vallouise, Puy- Saint-Vincent, Le Villard, Les Parches, Las Vigneaux. Accommodation in a hotel, apartments, camping. Introductory walk. The village can be reached by bus or car from the city of Briançon. Other meeting options are discussed before the start of the tour
Day 2
We will pass by the shepherd's hut of Jas-Lacroix and the tourist hut at an altitude of 1946 m, a beautiful waterfall, and also climb the highest pass on our route - Martin (2761 m). Then there will be a descent and ascent to the next pass of Cavale (2735 m), from which we descend to the plateau and go to the Chaumette hut (1790 m)
Day 3
A very interesting day. We have 3 passes: Vallette (2668 m), Gouiran (2597 m), Vallonpierre (2607 m). We admire the slopes of the Siraka massif, the highest point is 3441 m. Overnight in a hut near Lake Vallonpierre (2271 m)
Day 4
We descend to the village of Chapelle (1100 m). We will go around the Serac massif from the western side and descend into the mountain valley of Severaisse with numerous waterfalls, as well as views of mountain peaks and glaciers. Along the way we will pass several shelters and small villages.
Note:
- that the village of Chapelle is the southern entry/exit point for this circular trek,
- if there is no need to enter the village, you can go straight to the Souffle hut (1975 m) along the upper path
Day 5
We remind you that the village of Chapelle (1100 m) is the southern entry/exit point of this circular trek!!! From the village of Chapelle we continue our descent along the valley and the Severais River to the village of Villard Loubières (1033 m), from where we begin our ascent to the Soufflet hut (1975 m)
Day 6
In the morning we will continue our ascent, go around the Souffles massif with the Peak (3098 m) from the South and West and climb the Vaurze Pass (2490 m). Along the way we will admire other mountain peaks and glaciers. Then we will descend into the neighboring valley and the village of Valjouffrey (1260 m)
Day 7
After a night's rest in Valgiuffri (1260 m) we go towards 2 passes: Marme and Belle, but we only have one ascent to the Belle pass (2290 m). After the pass we descend to the village of Valsenestre (1295 m).
Day 8
Today, with a distance of about 9 km, we have a short day. We are going to Lake Muzelle (2130 m). But we must cross the high-mountain pass of the same nameMuzelle (2613 m)
Day 9
Today we will reach the westernmost point of our route - the village of Bourg d'Oisans, which is the western entry/exit point of the circular route. Many participants start their start from this village, which previously served as the historical entrance to the park, and is now very accessible logistically from Grenoble. On the way we will climb the Vallon Pass (2531 m), from where we will begin the descent into the Venéon Valley, pass near the large Lauvitel Lake (1530 m) and reach the village of Bourg d'Oisans (701 m).
Day 10
We rested, stocked up on food and continued our journey. Today the route is famous for its steep climb!!! We will go through the Sarenne gorge with its waterfalls, climb the Sarenne pass of the same name (2000 m). Then we will go down and reach the village of Clavain-le-Bas (1365 m)
Day 11
Today will be an interesting day, there will be many beautiful places: valleys, mountains, glaciers, rivers, lakes. We must reach the area of Chalet du Fay (2,260 m) and the refuge of Muterres
Day 12
We remind you that the village of La Grave (1520 m) is the northern entry/exit point of this circular trek!!! In the morning we warm up at the Souchet Pass (2365 m), descend to the village of La Grave (1520 m). On this section we will have many interesting places with stunning views. The village of La Grave is the northern entrance to this circular trek, here we will have a short rest, shops, historical places. Then we begin the ascent to the place of our next overnight stay at an altitude of 2079 m, in the area of the refuge Villar d'Aren
Day 13
A beautiful, easy trek to the city of Montier-les-Bains (1490 m). After our overnight stay, we begin the ascent to the next pass, Arsin (2348 m), then descend into the Guisan Valley, passing beautiful lakes and landscapes
Day 14
Well, here is the last push. We are waiting for the return to the village of Vallouise. But before that we must climb the Eychauda Pass (2425 m).
We will have a gorgeous view of the Chambran Valley, mountain peaks, glaciers, streams, lakes.
Day 15
End of the tour.
For those who wish to continue their holiday here, there are many interesting places: 2 extra days. If you have time and desire, you can add 2 days to the tour program, before and after the tour. You will have a round trip trek from the city of L'Argentiere-la-Besse (near Briançon) to Vallouise and back.
Today we climb and move to the refugio la Pousterle and then climb the pass of the same name - Col de la Pousterle (1763 m),
from where there is a beautiful view of:
- the Fournel valley and the southern part of the Durance valley,
- the highest point of the Ecrins massif - Barre des Ecrins (4102 m), peaks: Pic de Montbrison (2818 m), Pré-de-Arcas (3479 m), Mont Pelvoux (3932 m) and many others.
Then we descend to the village of Vallouise, the official gate of the Ecrins National Park.
