Day 1
Meeting at the airport (Tbilisi or Kutaisi) and transfer to the place of residence in Bakuriani vacation.
Days 2 and 3
Enjoy your holidays and skiing in Bakuriani. Bakuriani is considered one of the best ski resorts in Georgia with 4 existing tracks: Didveli, Tatra, Kokhta and a track for beginners. Their total length is 18 kilometers, and the height of the largest slope is 2700 meters above sea level. On all routes there is a cafe, rental points for the necessary ski equipment and experienced instructors. Bakuriani is located in the subtropic zone at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level. Winter is moderately cold, calm and sunny. The average January temperature is −6 ...- 7 ° С. The snow cover is stable, the height is 60-64 cm. The skiing season lasts from November to March, and February is the perfect time for those who want to roll enough and get a beautiful skin tone. Avalanche descent is an extremely rare phenomenon in Bakuriani.
For skiing, the slopes of Mount Kokhta (literally "beautiful") are used, the peak of which is at around 2,200 m above sea level. There is also an active development of her neighbor Didveli. Two routes descend from the top of Kokhta - Kokhta-1 and Kokhta-2. The length of the first is 1.5 km; This is a two-stage track for advanced skiers: the upper 500 m of the slope goes downhill to 52 degrees, the remaining kilometer is a red section. “Kokhta-2” is suitable for those who are confidently skiing - it is also two-stage, red-blue - steep slopes are replaced here by gentle slopes for relaxed skiing. Its length is 3 km. For beginners it makes sense to “sharpen the skis” on the “Plateau” - a comfortable track 300 m long with a slope of only 10-12 degrees.
In addition, for those taking their first skiing steps there are several simple short runs. The main lifts are a double chair lift (1200 m), a rope tow (1400 m) and a Tatra cable car (1600 m). Another 4 drag roads are designed for children. Also in Bakuriani there are 3 ski jumps, with a height of 45, 70 and 90 m and a toboggan track (1350 m). Cross-country ski lovers will appreciate the 13-kilometer trail to the Tskhratskaro pass (climb to a height of 2780 m). Among other things, the resort can enjoy plenty of snowmobiles and ice skating - in Bakuriani Park or on the rinks of the Eden Hotel
Day 4
Transfer to Goderzi, settlement and relaxation.
Days 5 and 6
We enjoy relaxing and skiing in Goderdzi, which is located in a unique climatic zone, on the Goderdzi pass - just 100 kilometers from the Black Sea coast of Adjara. The total territory of the resort Goderdzi: 700 hectares.
- The territory of the ski area: 670 ha.
- Total length of ski slopes: 18 km.
- Number of lifts: 2, one indoor and one chair.
- Maximum height: 2400 meters.
- Minimum height: 1722 meters.
- Altitude difference: 678 meters.
First of all, the track is impressive in its size - wide with many different sections, whose complexity in different sections varies in the widest range from “zero” to red. There are inexhaustible opportunities for backcountry and forest skiing. Two lifts manufactured by Doppelmayr, the lower one has enclosed cabins, then a chairlift for 4 people with a closing “visor” goes higher. Both cableways are quite long, climbing them takes 15 minutes. The green, blue and red tracks go down from the highest point, and the blue track goes down from the intermediate station. Lifts are open from 10:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 17:00 on weekends. Another plus of the Goderdzi resort stems from its main drawback - transport inaccessibility. If you manage to get there, then you will ride almost completely alone.
Day 7
Transfer to Mestia (Svaneti), settlement and rest.
Days 8, 9 and 10
We enjoy rest and skiing in Svaneti. An ancient, once impregnable historical region of highland Georgia, where the harsh beauty of the Greater Caucasus Range is combined with the legends of the ancient Georgian ethnic group and architectural relics and historical sights inherent in this place. In summer, this place is popular among lovers of mountaineering and hiking. However, today the ski resort in Svaneti receives much more tourists in the winter. The main stream of people wants to enjoy extreme slopes on snowboards and skis.
Khatsvali, and indeed the whole ski resort of Svaneti in Georgia has different levels of skiing: red, blue and training. From all sides this resort is surrounded by mountains and it is not surprising that this extreme sport is relevant here. The highest point of this resort is at an altitude of 2347 meters.
Athletes can go down any of the 3 prepared tracks:
- red. The length of 1.9 kilometers. Designed for athletes with an average level of training; blue This is the longest track in this resort. Its length is 2.6 kilometers;
- training. The track is especially for beginners, where everyone can take their first steps in this sport. The length of 300 meters.
Svaneti is a rapidly developing ski area, the management of which is working on improving the tourism infrastructure and opening new tracks.
The second resort to which you should come buying tours to Svaneti is Tetnuldi, located at a distance of 15 kilometers from Mestia. This resort is equipped with modern lifts that deliver athletes to a height of 3165 meters. The longest track is 9,500 meters, which offers incredible views and walking distance for a sport such as freeride.
Day 11
Transfer to Gudauri, settlement and rest.
Days 12 and 13
Enjoy your holidays and skiing in Gudauri. Gudauri is the largest and most developed winter resort in Georgia. It is located on the picturesque Georgian Military Highway 120 kilometers from Tbilisi and 310 kilometers from Kutaisi and is the highest settlement on this road, there is nothing more in the region of the fantastically beautiful Cross Pass (2379 meters above sea level), and the rest of the villages are lower.
The best time to relax in Gudauri is the period from late December to mid-April, although in some years even in early May, when Tbilisi and Batumi have long been buried in flowers, you can still ride there. The fact is that snow cannons were installed in Gudauri, so if nature does not want to please skiers, then the resort administration will please them.
Gudauri routes, the total length of which is 75 kilometers, descend from the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus. The longest descent: 7.5 km. Gudauri ski resort has 14 lines of the Doppelmayr cable car (open, closed and gondola types). The beginning of the first lift - at an altitude of 2000 meters. The end of the last lift - at an altitude of 3258 meters. The total elevation in the resort using lifts is 1258 vertical meters.
That is why Gudauri in recent years has been chosen by lovers of freeriding and extreme descents. You can go down the unsolved slopes both near the ski lifts and from the slopes of the Chrdili and Bidar mountains in the vicinity of Gudauri, as well as from the northern slopes of Sadzele mountain, where there are no official slopes. In addition, thrill-seekers can order a heli-ski tour or paraglide with an instructor, calmly and measuredly. However, if you ask, the instructor will gladly show you some dizzying tricks.
In addition to skiing in Gudauri, you can take a steam bath, visit the spa, play billiards, bowling or table tennis (these services are provided by the hotels). Tasting of natural Georgian wines is also an indispensable element of relaxation in Georgia: it is not for nothing that this country is called the cradle of winemaking! A delicious dinner of traditional Georgian dishes and a glass of wine by the fireplace in Gudauri hotels is a wonderful rest after an active day.
Day 14
Moving to Tbilisi or Kutaisi depending on the city of departure, buying souvenirs and transfer to the airport.
Attention!!! Depending on the weather conditions, the physical condition of the participants and other factors, the route of the trip can be changed.
