Day 1
You will be welcomed at the airport, before heading to your bed and breakfast for the night.
Day 2
You’ll transfer from Marrakech to meet your guide and mules in Agouti, at 1850m. It is then an easy 3 or 4 hour walk to the campsite near Azib n’Ikkis. The journey will take you to 2250 m and you’ll pass through some beautiful examples of Berber villages.
Day 3
A short day’s trekking will take you to Tarkeddid in about 4 or 5 hours. It is relatively steep however, especially when you ascend the Oumskig Pass at 2909 m and the Aghouwri Pass at 3400 m. Your hard work will pay off though when you take in the simply stunning views of the surrounding areas available from the top of the passes. You’ll then follow a steep zig-zagging path down to the Tarkeddid refuge where you and the group will spend the night.
Day 4
To get to the summit of M’Goun (4071 m), the third highest peak in this region of North Africa, you and your guides will have to get up early. The ascent is not technically that difficult, but it is hard work in places. When you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with timeless views of a magnificent natural vista. You will then return to the refuge for the night. Your descent from there should take around 3 hours to complete.
Day 5
After the completion of M’Goun, you have a very varied day’s trekking ahead of you. You’ll traverse the edge of the Arouss Gorge and down past streams and rivers before ascending to the Oumsoud Pass at 2969 m. You can then picnic in a delightful meadow, sporting a spring and located in the Oumlilimt Valley. After a further 3 hours or so of trekking, you will reach the Ain Aflafal refuge where you can eat and spend the night.
Day 6
The day’s walk will take about 5 or 6 hours to get back over the Ait Imi Pass to Tabant. The trekking should be easy at first, but becomes a little more difficult as the Ait Imi Pass (2914 m); you’ll start to climb, before encountering a steep ascent at the end. From here though, you can see down into the lovely M’Goun Valley and on a clear day, you can see as far as Tabant. The descent from the pass is steep and there is loose scree, but only lasts about 90 minutes. Eventually, you will arrive in Ait Imi, about 30 minutes away from your destination, Tabant.
Day 7
From Tabant, you can transfer easily to Marrakech, and spend the rest of your time as you would like to.
Day 8
After breakfast, transfer back to Marrakech Airport and departure.
After the main tour, you can choose additional excursions:
