Mount Mont Blanc, or rather the whole mountain range (French Mont Blanc, Italian Monte Bianco, literally "white mountain"), the highest point of the Alps, 4810 m high. It is located on the border of France and Italy in the Upper Savoy and Courmayeur, respectively . From the ascent to Mont Blanc, on August 8, 1786, the emergence of mountaineering was associated by the doctor Michel-Gabriel Packard and the mountain guide Jacques Balm.
The Monument to the First Climbers on Mont Blanc is located in the world center of mountaineering and skiing - Chamonix.

Climbing Mont Blanc is carried out all year round, both from France and Italy. The best time to climb Mont Blanc is July and August. Mont Blanc has many climbing routes for every taste. From classic and simple: The Gouter route, the Cosmic route or through the Three peaks (The Three-Mont-Blanc route), to very complex and long, combined and mixed routes. For example, along the walls of Aiguille Blanche, Grand Pilier d'Angle, Brenva, Miage, as well as buttresses and ridges.

The most beautiful route is considered through the Three peaks (The Three-Mont-Blanc route), which is a traverse of the array. The most popular and easiest route is Guter.

There are huts on the slopes of Mont Blanc. They are intended for recreation for climbers, who in the evening go to the top from difficult routes or for climbers caught by the weather. They are not accepted to be used among people walking along simple routes.

  • Around Mont Blanc are popular multi-day races (marathons) (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc).
  • Under the Mont Blanc, an automobile tunnel has been laid 11.6 km long, connecting France and Italy.
  • At the western foot of Mont Blanc, on the French side, is the famous Chamonix ski resort. At the south, on the Italian side, is Courmayeur.

Further on the cable car Paul Gelbronner in panoramic gondolas to the peak of the same name in Italy.
