Tours list
Mera and Island peaks Climbing

Mera Peak (6476 m) and Island Peak (6189 m). Two ascents in one tour

Two initial ascents of the six-thousanders of Nepal.

  • Mera Peak (6476 m) - the easiest of the available six-thousanders in Nepal,
  • Island Peak (6189 m) is a fairly high and initial technical six-thousander. Participants need to be able to use alpine equipment well. You will have movement in crampons with ice axes on snow and ice fields, possibly on stairs through cracks, work with a zhumar along steep railings.

A big bonus for these ascents is the indescribable panorama of the Himalayan peaks: Everest (8848 m), Kanchenjunga (8586 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Makalu (8485 m), Cho Oyu (8201 m), Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, Baruntse and etc.

Information! We have separate climbing programs:

  • Mera peak - look
  • Island peak - look
  • Island peak with trekking in Everest BC - look
  • Ama Dablam with acclimatization on Island peak - look

Brief information about the area

Island Peak (6189 m), also known as Imja Tse, is located in the Imja Valley right on the Nepalese-Tibetan border, in the Sagartatha National Park, on one of the spurs of the huge southern wall of Lhotse. This beautiful mountain really looks like an island that on both sides is overshadowed by the huge southern wall of Lhotse / Nuptse in the north and Baruntse in the south. The view from the top of this mountain is really wonderful, amazing glaciers descending from a height of 8000 meters and a view of the beautiful Ama Dablam and Mount Makalu.

Peak Mera:

  • height above sea level - 6476 m,
  • the highest, easiest and most affordable six-thousander in Nepal,
  • as a big bonus for climbing - an indescribable panorama of the Himalayan peaks: Everest (8848 m), Kanchenjunga (8586 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Makalu (8485 m), Cho Oyu (8201 m)

Attention! Preparation for the ascent should be taken thoroughly. For climbing:

  • Good physical fitness and stamina required
  • It is advisable to have experience in mountain hiking or climbing, for example, Kazbek, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, etc.
  • You need to know and be able to use alps equipment (you will have a training program)
